Five Prisons No One Can Escape From
What does it take to be able to hold the most notorious criminals in the world? Special arrangements must be undertaken to make sure that the absolute worst of the worst will stay behind bars and that they will not be able to escape to rejoin society.
This is where supermax high-security prisons become relevant. This kind of prison guarantee that the most dangerous criminals are being strictly segregated on a long-term basis. Authorities ensure that they do not pose a threat to security and the peace and order situation any more by keeping them inside.
Here are 5 of what are considered to be the prisons which are the most difficult to break out of globally. Conditions may be potentially unlivable, which is probably appropriate given the kind of people who live in them.
ADX Florence, USA
ASX Florence, which is in Colorado, is perhaps the most secure prison on the planet. This Prison is a maximum lock-down jail where it is said that prisoners are lucky if they ever get to see the sun at all. This involves a cell that has no direct access. Furthermore, its dwellers are locked up the whole day, denied any measure that could possibly help them get out, let alone, escape.
Federal Correctional Complex, USA
Federal Correctional Complex, located in Indiana, is a maximum-security prison. The correctional facility has a very limited number of human personnel. However, it still is considered one of the most secure prisons in the country. The biometric locks, facial recognition, motion sensors and 30-degree cameras under constant surveillance are more than enough reason for them to not need more manpower.
La Santé Prison, France
Built in 1867, The La Santé Prison is one of the most prominent prisons in the world. La Santé is a prison particularly known for its intense security. Regardless of its location in Paris, the architecture and security measures of the prison are so uncomplicated and effective which makes it impossible for prisoners to get out. Around 2 hundred prisoners had to figure this out the hard way a few years back while attempting to escape via a sewage pipe, that of which they found out was locked down too. Most of the attempted escapees suffocated to death.
Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, USA
Evidently one of the most renown prisons around the globe. There have only been 12 prison escapes ever attempted and 5 of those are unaccounted for but are assumed to have ended in death. Alcatraz closed and stopped operating in 1968. However, it still holds the reputation of being one of the toughest prisons to break out of.
Tadmor Military Prison, Syria
Tadmor Military Prison in Syria was built by the French Mandate forces in the early 20th century as a military barracks. However, it is now known as one of the hardest prisons to survive in, all because of its insane human rights violations and extreme living conditions. Regarding the escapability of the prison, the facility is in the middle of a desert some 200 kilometers northeast of the Syrian capital, Damascus. Furthermore, the only way to get in or out of the prison is one tunnel that you would have to crawl through, which is extremely secure.
